Each year more than 30 percent of Americans request additional time to file from the Internal Revenue Service. However, even though these taxpayers have six additional months to file, they often push the preparation off to the last minute and file returns with one of six commons mistakes, according to Jonnette Marte who blogs for Smart Money.
